Local history, Saltcoats

I grew up in Ardrossan but for the past 25 years have lived in Stevenston. I am now moving to Saltcoats, Stanley Road.
Does anyone have any local history about this specific area? Did the Stanley Burn used to run near? Were there old mine shafts nearby?
