Painting of Saltcoats Harbour
Hi all, I am Tim and hail from Dorset, I was given a rather nice painting a couple of days ago, it is of Saltcoats Harbour and done in water colour I think.
Painted in 1981 by H White, does this mean anything to anybody?

Hi Tim, and welcome to the 3T's.
I don't have an answer to your question, but, maybe your "H.White" is a connection of the "A.White"
mentioned in this thread ?
http://www.threetowners.net/forum/viewt ... it=H.White
Also, if you play around with this sites search facility you will get many many returns/matches if you type in
"H.White" (or something similar). You may find the answers you're looking for if you look through the results ?
Good luck.

Hi Tim.
It could be Hugh White who was I think an artist .
As far as I know he moved to Edinburgh quite a few years ago.

Thanks Mike, might make it easier to find some history now.
Re: Painting of Saltcoats Harbour
Hi saw the comment re painting of Saltcoats Harbour by H White think this may possibly be my uncle Hugh now living in Crawford (previously Edinburgh originally Saltcoats). I would love to see a picture of it if its available then I could email my uncle to try and find out if it is one of his.

that name hugh white brings back memories, he was the snp rep here in late fifties earl 60;s, I amongst others sold alba pools to raise funds for the snp, some tickets had a bonus on them of a pair of nylons lol, also did a spot of fly posting at election times, we would meet at hughies house once a week, played snooker on a six foot table, his wife made us our tea an cakes, and if my memory serves me correct he worked as a graphic designer, should you get in touch with him could you please ask if he remembers what I have put in this post
