Hi Folk's
Got a book of my ant The Parishes of Ardrossan and Stevenston in old postcards by Roy Lauchlan MBE. JP. Some of the photo are great i would love to show them to you all as i know you would all be intrested to see them there pictures of Ardrossan Harbour, Princes street Glasgow Street, in Saltcoats Sydney Street and thing about Sydney Street is that the name of the street was often miss-spelt at one time the name plate at one end was spelt Sydney and at the other side it was spelt Sidney if you know a way for me to get in contact the people so i can show this book i would be greatfull the full name or title is

Thanks for the link i have sent them a wee note so thanks again how are you fine i hope as i have not chated for a we while as i have not had a great deal of time on my hands so lets hope they let me show the post cards as there first class thanks once more .

Hi Jimmy now had a reply, the site for a printer in Zaltbommel is http://www.aprilis.nl , contact is Kitty (perfect English) and worked for EL before they went bust in 2003. She is sending me samples and prices. you may do better on a local publisher, we have several that specialise in local history etc around here as no doubt you have. Pete

JUST BROWSING ON THIS TOPIC AND SAW THE PIC OF SALTCOATS POOL. BELIEVE IT OR NOT I JUST FOUND THIS EXACT POSTCARD WHILE CLEANING OUT A BOOKCASE!!! THINK IT MUST BE AROUND 1968 GOING BY THE CHIMNEYS AT THE NYLON PLANT. I CAN'T GET AWAY WITH THE COINCIDENCE THOUGH. :o

There are some excellent postcards of Ardrossan and Saltcoats on this site http://www.tonybarrphoto.co.uk/ . The guy lives in Ardrossan and I can say, from personal experience, that he is a pretty good Photographer.
