The beach park Meg, if you get to the car park at the back of the beach park you are pretty close.

Years since I’ve been down the beach park - need to have a look. Rumours that the ship inn is reopening…

Was down in the Harbour Arts Centre just before Christmas and you could see there was work being done on the ship. I've heard that it's Buzzworks that have taken it over.

Ohhhh - that’s interesting - I like buzzworks food but I hope they keep the character and “pubiness” of the place. It’s got a lot of history in Irvine - and a shiny, whizzy bang, restaurant just wouldn’t fit. Fingers crossed 🤞

Was at the Lido (Buzzworks) in Troon today for lunch and they deny any connection with the Ship Inn. Back to the rumour machine…

We were so disappointed to find the Ship Inn closed this year. Its our First Port of call when we arrive in Scotland. And the Gro coffe shop let us down too. They have become too busy now and you have to queue up outside to get a table. By the time we sat down the food we chose was finished.

Jean, next time you are over you should try Duncan's (next to the ship) I can recommend.
