I also remember Boyd the scrap man and man in the Reliant van selling paraffin on a Saturday.
The old bus converted to fish and chip think it was Scotts .
Round at least once an night Bill Agnew's ice cream van.

That's great photo, never seen one showing the layout of the buildings so close. Our drive in Rashley Square was paved with the bricks from what looks like one of the smaller buildings.

I can remember seeing a wrecking ball in demolishing something at the Gasworks in the very early 60's, watching from the McDowell Avenue gate. Very young don't remember much, when were the Gasworks demolished. My father worked with Scottish Gas Board, I went with him on a Sunday morning he had to do...

The Mill as the season went on was hard to fish due to all the weed. Thought is was shallower that in looked.
Never caught anything like a 3lb fish they got when moving the fish.

Yes brings a lot of memories. I can remember the fireless loco at Shell. Good views of Winton and Montgomerie stations.
Can anybody remember when Montgomerie station was fenced off by Shell?

i don,t know if it was a murchies shop but i do remember they also had a mobile van at that location? corner of winton street, maybe someone else has a better memory? There was a little grocery shop up past Seton street on Glasgow street that had a mobile van. It was called either Davidson’s or Ped...
