Hi P.T., there is only one house in this photo.Its the Gasworks managers house at the foot of the Gasworks Brae.Its still there today.the building to the right of the gasworks is the offices.Just behind the gasworks you can see the roof of the old St Mary's school.There were houses in Union St.that were very close to the gasworks,about 15 to 20ft away from the outside wall.I used to play in and around the gasworks when I was wee boy.I saw the big brick chimney being taken down one Sunday morning. 2 wee bangs ,very close together and the thing just collapsed,it was 1962 ???? I attended St Mary's in the early 70's and can remember the Gasworks well.

I remember Dad after the war, going from Dockhead st to the gas works for coke for the fire. Ellen.
