Netta, Tell that man of yours he's right - it was Jack Lambertbobnetau wrote:Hi, Hugh. Bobby says was it ? Lambert. His folks had a plumbing business in Glasgow Street. He was also in cowboy movies.
He starred in the propaganda movie "Nine Men" in 1943 along with Gordon jackson. He made a lot of other films, but as I said he gets confused with an American by the same name.
Here's what I know through asking a couple of questions in family research circles:
Jack Lambert was born on 29 Dec 1899 in Ardrossan. He died on 13 Mar 1976 in East Sheen, London. His wife's name was Julia. He was the 4th son of John Lambert and Mary Dyet. In the 1901 census for Ardrossan, John and Mary were listed with 7 children at 87 Glasgow Street. John snr was a Master Plumber. Wonder if this was the address of the plumbing shop Bobby and I remember.
Now Netta ... The McCubbin famly are it - your turn to ask the next question. If you don't I'll be droonin you in the surf at Maroochydore when we get there for oor threetowners reunion in August

This is my favourite poem..written by an American..can anyone name the author and title of the poem?
I will be the gladdest thing
Under the sun!
I will touch a hundred flowers
And not pick one.
I will look at cliffs and clouds
With quiet eyes,
Watch the wind bow down the grass,
And the grass rise.
And when lights begin to show
Up from the town,
I will mark which must be mine,
And then start down!
