Just heard his daughter's car pull away. Methinks he had some help - I'm gonna stroll over there.

This Sulphur Crested Cockatoo visited our front lawn's bird bath for a wee drink yesterday. When it cocks its head it's looking at Betty who's keeking out from the other window.

I think it was in her 'Adventure' series Enid Blyton featured a sulphur crested cockatoo, Kiki? She made it so intelligent I always wanted one. I've got a cockatiel and it's pretty smart, so much for bird brain! That was so cute, Hughie!

A flock of Galahs stopped for a drink in our bird bath. Things are mighty dry here as you can see compare this with the previous youtube posting above.
Us two Ardrossan lads, Bobby McCubbin and I had a good laugh this morning. We were out for our walk around the lake in Ocean Grove with our walking group. This Purple Swamphen came out from under a garden fence running right in front of us to the lake. It was fast but I managed a couple of snaps. Puts a new slant on pinching apples.

Och, we did Hughie, we're just overwhelmed by the exotic fauna in Australia!
How big are the swamphens...going by the foot size I imagine they are not too small and can run pretty fast. Are they good in flight or more land bound?

I kent you'd notice, Morag. Maybe if I could get an elephant to hop in the bird bath - now there's a thought.

I noticed Hughie I love birds, photo's were brilliant, wish I had a camera
when the seagull that flew over our house in Ardrossan with its foot stuck in a empty small can of baked beans.
looked funny, no digital camera's then.

Thought I'd add to my old wildlife photos. These are Corellas visiting our front birdbath. We get a lot of activity from various species morning and night.
