Glasgow Fair at Ardrossan Harbour, 1936
The Ardrossan Harbour is being shaken by an annual storm this week-end. Glasgow Fair trippers, holiday bound, are rolling into the harbour on trains which are arriving every half-hour. Twenty-five trains came in last night and twenty-nine are expected to-day. Last night there were 19 Harbour Patrolmen on duty to guard the entrances to the Harbour.
On Wednesday, one boat sailed to the Isle of Man. On Thursday there were two, on Friday five sailed and to-day it is expected that three will sail.
The s.s. Ben MaChree, Lady of Mann, King Orry, Mona's Isle, and Mona are all plying back and forward on the Isle of Man run. Yesterday there were three ships on the daylight service run to Belfast and to-day five runs will be necessary to transport the holiday makers. The s.s. Lairdsrock, Lairds Isle, and Lairdsloch are all on the run. Elaborate precautions are necessary to ensure that no confusion arises in the harbour.
I've corrected an error from the newspaper clipping. Can you spot what could possibly be a deliberate error?
