It was one of those "unexpected gigs" - I was living in Glasgow at the time, and the guy I shared a flat with had bought tickets - but his girlfriend didnt want to go. Must have been 85 or 86, and I think the gig was at Strathclyde Uni Union. Or maybe the QM.

We went to the gig, then for a few beers. On the way home, I went into Tower Records and bought the album.

Tower Records was a record shop at the railway bridge on Argyle St at Central Station. Their business model appeared to be "Stay open til midnight every night, and sell records and CDs to drunk people..."

Glad you enjoyed it, George. The playlist was knocked together in a bit of a hurry - I'd been speaking to Gordon Hotchkiss earlier in the day, and he'd been grumbling that when Burns time comes round, the mainstream broadcasters tend to play the same 2 or 3 songs by the same 2 or 3 performers. So I felt I should look out something different.

Are you still performing? Obviously not during lockdown, but in "normal times"?
