I thought I would kick this one off as there are so many but we only seem to remember a few at a time. Yet we were taught lots of them at school.

I'll star with three common ones and see how many we can add from there.

A stitch in time saves nine.

A rolling stone gathers no moss.

People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Never look a gift horse in the mouth. You can take a horse to the water but ye canne make it drink. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush A stitch in time saves nine. Gather your rosebuds while you may. A cat can laugh at a king.
