" Tales of Beatrix Potter " ( all week ) is a musical interpretation of the author's stories danced by members of the Royal Ballet. Small animal figures move balletically against human backgrounds: the mice against a mammoth sized door frame, a scuttle of small mouse figures rhythmically tackle steep stairs, while Jeremy Fisher the frog dances across lily leaves which perch in the water like delicate ice-floes. The film explores the solitary world of childhood fantasy and matches it with a rich visual and musical language of its own. A delightful film with an appeal to all ages.
