Been all over the High Kirk's burial ground a few years ago when I was back looking for my family's Lockhart connection. Stevenston is said to be named after a Stephen Lockhart - the Lockhart graves are pretty prominent there.

On the sloping side of the burial ground going down to the burn it's hard to imagine how burials were conducted there, the slope is so steep - fascinating place.

Took this photo at the High Kirk gatehouse last Summer. Does anyone have any memories of who lived there and how long it's been empty? See: http://www.threetowners.net/forum/viewt ... 691#p68691
