Hue and Cry are the headliners this year.

Hope it keeps dry.

The first event, a couple of years ago, seemed reasonably successful - although my kids dismissed it, saying it was “dad bands”. They’ve got a point - the headliners, this time and last time, were successful 30-35 years ago.

One big difference though is that the original event was free. This one is £35 per ticket. I’d love to be proven wrong, but I’m not sure what size of audience that will attract.

Aye Bruce the skids were brilliant 2 years ago (it's a sad day when punk rock becomes dad rock) and in the past I have seen both hipsway and hue and cry but I won't be paying £35 to see them again.

I don't mind paying money to see a band but on the whole the price of live music is now disgraceful. As my rant goes on you used to pay more for an album than you did for a live concert, the gig was to promote the album so usually about half the price........anyhoo I'm an angry rabbit :hi:

It’s a pretty steep increase from free to 35 quid. It’s shocking really. I certainly won’t be going.

Thanks for posting that bonzo. Looking at the photos it seemed to attract a mature audience.

A lower than hoped for turnout. Not surprising considering the price.

I was thinking this 500 x 35 = £17.5k, I don't know how much the bands would cost also hiring a stage, the ground, security etc but I can't see much profit for the organisers.

Hugh and Cry would have cost a few quid. Your right it’s hard to see where the profit comes from. The first one was deemed a success even though it was free.
