STEVENSTON PARISH COUNCIL

At the monthly meeting of this body – Mr. Hugh Thomson presiding – a committee, consisting of Messrs Duncan, Bicket, and Sinclair, was appointed to manage the parish charities along with the kirk session.

The clerk submitted a statement as to the finance of the Council and the assessments required for next year. The statement had been prepared by the clerk and the collector.

A lively discussion took place, Bailie Duncan holding that this matter should be taken up by a committee of the Council, who should report to the Board. As further information was required, it was decided to remit the question of the assessments to a committee.
