Been happening frequently in past week - mainly during afternoon/evening from about 4 - 11pm.
To be fair, my ISP has said "though they have NOT imposed any particular 'throttling' on my account, this is 'peak' times for them and bandwidth may be congested". What I find peculiar is that I don't notice any difference on other sites that I log on to.

Maybe I'll just have to move to Australia time

Hughie

This hasn't happened regularly to me, but it does happen on occasion - a retry usually does connect - haven't noticed as yet when this happens (ie what time) but will be more attentive next time and tell you.

Hughie,

I didn't use the poll, as it has only happened once. After replying that I had no problems, it happened yesterday.

I will say, things seemed to be very busy at the time, and my response-times had been very slow.

very difficult to get a connection between 3 and 10 pm , would guess about 1 in every 4 tries I can get connected, followed by each page opening very slowly , that has been over the last 3 weeks

I was having quite a bit of trouble accessing the forum for several weeks , as well as some other parts of the site like the originals of the Herald files;my experience was much like wmh described above . But this week since I joined 3T I've had no bother at all.

Hughie,
I haven't experienced the Network Timeout message shown. Nonetheless I selected the "often timesout on me option" because it often seems to 'freeze' when logging onto Threetowners Forum - the screen partly loads then stops. Usually I give it a hurry up by repeatedly clicking on the 'Go' button at the end of the address bar as that seems to get a quicker result than using the 'Refresh' button. Mind you, Threetowners isn't the only website this happens on. Another website that's often slow to respond is "Google Mail". Sometimes I get the message along the lines of "this page has expired. Press refresh to continue". Don't know whether that's the same as 'Network Timeout' though ?
