With "The Open" starting tomorrow it reminded me of this photo of number two son, Jamie McCallum with Australian, Ian Baker Finch's 1991 Open Trophy. Photo was taken in the USA during a team of Australian amateur golfers scholarship visit C1995.
From what I understand, their coach, Steve Bann, took them to Ian Baker Finch's home but he was out. So I'm thinking his wife let them pose with 'The Claret Jug' as Steve was a good friend of Ian Baker-Finch.
The first open was played at Prestwick in 1860.

Re: The Open
You must be so proud of your son Hughie. And i remember reading on the forum he met
Novak Djokovic who plays in the mens final at Wimbledon on Sunday.
And a big well done to the Aussie- Ashleigh Barty who won the Ladies final today.
Jon Rahm- The Spanish former World amateur golfer is the clear favourite to win this years open.

Re: The Open
Yes, very proud, Brian.
Great to see Ashleigh Barty winning the final at Wimbledon she really is something else as was her hero Evonne Goolagong Cawley - both with indigenous backgrounds. There will be a few Barty parties today up in Queensland.
