According to https://www.teamscotland.scot/gold-coast-2018-facts/, there are remarkably few from Ayrshire.

In bowling, Irene Edgar Para-Sport Mixed Pairs B2/B3 is from Saltcoats and David Thomas Para-Sport Mixed Pairs B2/B3 (Director) from Ardrossan.

We also have a badminton player from Beith, a gymnast from Dreghorn (who has won a Bronze medal)

Did you see the wee lassie playing table tennis for Wales?
11 years old  when I was 11 the furthest I'd been was Arran nevermind representing my country on the other side of the world.

I've been watching the beach volley ball and although the men's matches are entertaining for some strange reason they are not as exciting as the women's.

That was a bit of a shock- Marshall and Foster losing the Men's Bowls Doubles to the Welsh pair 12-10.
Marshall is a big bloke and it looked as though the heat could have got to him ? He still has a shot at the Men's fours later in the games and if he won that he would have had won 5 Commonwealth Golds for Scotland.

Well that's it over and I will say I enjoyed some of the team games more than the athletics. The women's netball final between Australia and England was gripping. One highlight was during the opening ceremony when a lassie accidently exposed her bare bottom. Couldn't quite believe it and it added to the enjoyment of the proceedings.

The English women's net ball team have rightly been praised for their great triumph against the Australian World champions. It was very exciting to watch .It is not included in the Olympics and I hope this changes because it is very entertaining.
