The Lions Tour
The Lions Tour
It's probably a bit hypocritical of me as I would never want a British football team but I've always enjoyed the lions.
6 weeks of brutal rugby in New Zealand and all 3 Scots start this morning against the barbarians.
10 games, 3 tests. It's going to be more than difficult against the best team in the world.

A very unconvincing win this morning hopefully can put it down to jet lag.

Re: The Lions Tour
In the first test on the 24 june i can only see one Scot starting (Stuart Hogg) Dont understand that Scotland beat Wales recently and Gatland has 11 Welsh and only 3 Scots in the squad..................bonzo wrote:It's probably a bit hypocritical of me as I would never want a British football team but I've always enjoyed the lions.

Re: The Lions Tour
I thought both Seymour and laidlaw both played OK. It will be a step up on Wednesday and especially next Saturday against the crusaders which is the unofficial 4th test.

Re: The Lions Tour
Been a really sluggish start to the British lions tour, & I don't think many expected a defeat in their second match. Vast improvement is needed to get anywhere near challenging the all blacks, let alone beating them.
Re: The Lions Tour
Just had a wee watch at some highlights from this morning. Seems to have been a lot of indiscipline in the lions team which inevitably means giving away possession/penalties/points.
It must be very disappointing to ride out a yellow card and then lose a try when you get back to 15. As I said at the weekend I think Saturday will pretty much be the test team.

Re: The Lions Tour
Only caught the first half this morning but that looked like a test side and beating a crusaders with 8 all blacks in their starting 15 should be a wee moral victory.

Re: The Lions Tour
Stuart hogg the first casualty of the tour, fractured cheek cause by one of his own players. Lions v the highlanders this morning.

Re: The Lions Tour
With Stuart Hogg out the tour this will mean no Scots to play in the test matches. Greg Laidlaw and Tommy Seymour the only Scots left in the squad are only MIDWEEK players . Expect an uproar in Scotland ???
Re: The Lions Tour
Another narrow defeat today by the highlanders 1 point in it.
