Bonzo,

Thanks for the heads-up, I've marked it in my diary. BUT why photograph the star of the show in SALTCOATS?

Apparently they visit a pub and the castle in Ardrossan.
Need to set myself a reminder to watch it,

PT, Hughie you are both correct of course. I know of the scooter club they are talking about and they meet in the Melbourne, hence the photo I think.

This reminds me of a programme in the 50's called 'Down Your Way.' How many of you older ones remember that?
They came to Stevenston once, and my father was asked to take part, but he was too shy and said no.
I was dead disappointed, as I wanted my old-man to be a radio star. :(

JD - I regret to report that I remember the show, and it may be of interest to note that the broadcast of DOWN YOR WAY (Stevenston) (produced by Richard Burwood) was at 5.15 p.m. on Sunday, 4 June, 1972. The blurb said, "Roy Trevivian recently visited Stevenston, Ayrshire."

My goodness PT.
I was absolutely sure that it was much earlier than that.
Thanks for the info, even though it reinforced the fact that the old grey cells are wearing out.

Brian,
Here in Australia it's been some years since I've been able to pay and subscribe to view videos through BBC iPlayer, or what was the equivalent back then. I can still sign into my old account but can only see what's on - here's the screen I get when trying to view.
