The Girl On The Train, I have just watched the dvd and enjoyed it very much. The film is very sympathetic to-wards the main character who is seen as a victim. I won't say anymore in case I spoil it for someone.

Just watched 'Mystic River' (Sean Penn, Tim Robbins, Kevin Bacon). Directed by Clint Eastwood. Fantastic chemistry between the 3 main characters. Extra footage reveals Eastwood to be a very laidback director, letting the actors bring what THEY choose to a movie, and often using the rehearsals as the final cut.

What a movie. Got it from a charity shop.

Psychological murder mystery. Never until the final 10 mins could I work out who the killer actually was.

Worth ordering online if not seen before!!

Recommend 1000 percent.

Sean Penn is something else. Great at playing the nutter. His voice and the vacant look make him in a class of his own.

Agreed. And Tim Robbins was always Mr Ice Cool. The Shawshank Redemption with him..

Went to see it last night.
Normal Mel Gibson film with plenty of blood and gore but nothing normal about the true story and the courage of the main character who saved 75 of his comrades from what was certain death, carrying them with super human strength to safety. Well made film and well told true story of a truly remarkable man.

Yes Morag some of us just play ourselves. The classic example is Jimmy Stewart.

A film I would suggest most of us have seen and enjoyed is Dirty Harry. There is a scene that makes no sense to me. He has been shot in the legs with buck shot and when the doctor who is treating his buckshot wounds tries to cut his pants to get at the wounds and save him the pain he would feel if he were to take his pants off. Callaghan tells him how much his pants cost and not to cut them. Surely the pants are full of holes from the buck shot and ruined anyway?

On my daughter's recommendation, I took myself off to the cinema to see Lion.
First time in my life that I had gone to a movie on my own.
Great movie and did enjoy my bag of maltesers but don't tell Bobby about them. lol

When I worked in London, I took myself to the cinema in Whitelys Bayswater by myself a few times Netta. One the lights are dimmed and the Maltesers are open, you forget you're there on your own :)
