Full many a happy hour has gone
Since we were wont tae frolic
Many a friend now pale and wan
In the years I've known you Alec
Still we loved our simple ways
Our own childish pleasures
Our simple joys, our summer days
Are the times we mostly treasure.
We also learned just how to bend
What was good, always made us glad
Tho we oft had to make or mend
It really was never too bad.
So let the reek flee up the lum
Tomorrow in just another day
You always met what had to come
And very often showed the way
