They are now offering school lunches from the back of the pub. Reasonably priced about £i.50. Guess chips will be on the menu. I think they will do ok as its nearer than the chippy the kids normally go to.

Yes, well unfortunately its at the back of the pub where the kitchens are and the beer garden. I suspect they will allow them to sit and eat in the beer garden and on sunnier days perhaps drink some coke . Anyway they choose their customers.Slange

Last night I was fed up and decided to go and watch the game in the pub. Thought i'd call into McGlones to see how its doing and to taste the Tennants. Bonzo you know your lager an excellent pint. No Sky so I left and went to the Crosskeyes watched the game but the lager did not compare.

Last time I had a pint in the Grants was as part of a Hunterston day out as Lenny was a regular in there, That would have been nearly 30 years ago. Lenny used to live up on Mayfield Road in Saltcoats back then but always drank in the Grants rather than the Elms or the Aberlour which would have been slightly closer to his house.

Good to see some of the old pubs still going strong in the Three Towns.

That is not as strange as you would imagine

I think they will do ok as its nearer than the chippy the kids normally go to.
the nearest for food ( That's a technical description )would be the Ice cream van that sits at roundabout in Hillside Street , it's sited just beyond the 200 mts limit from the school entrance

I would think that £1.50 is extremely competitive

Interesting to read that sentance about an icecream Van Parked on the 200 meter limit from the School.
I never heard of this rule before. Is this the Law now back there in the old country.

I think it's in the Council Bye-Laws or within the regulations which allow the Vans to operate (as they require an operating licence from the Council and to be registered )
If a council says you can't park within 200 mts, then by accepting the licence you have signed up to that condition
Birmingham and a few other cities did it but they received much more publicity

Seems to be up for sale

I remember one of the owners years ago, a lady owned a Jaguar Mk 2 (F registration which would have been one of the last made)
