I think you could only vote more than once margb if you had more than one facebook account under separate names, as once you've 'Liked' something on facebook you don't really have the option to like it multiple times.

The best idea is to persuade as many of your friends on facebook as possible to 'Like' it as well.

Have to admit to never having visited the castle in my life. Before the summer is over I really need to go.

The thing is Viv the castle is fenced off.

I see. It would still be nice to climb up there for the views anyway.

Thanks for posting the results, Hughie - and thanks, too, to everyone who voted for Ardrossan Castle. Although it would have been good if Ardrossan Castle came first, it was a great achievement to finish second in a national competition.

This is still a fantastic achievement. Well done!

As an aside, on Saturday and Sunday, I was persuading people, even if they had only ever visited Ardrossan they should be supporting the vote. The purpose of many of the those in this category was "to visit Arran" and coming from the Glasgow and Paisley areas they had approached and left the harbour area via Glasgow Street, unaware that Ardrossan had a castle!

Maybe it's time we should be trying to persuade Caledonian MacBrayne that instead of using GLEN SANNOX and other names over and over again we should have a ship operating locally called "ARDROSSAN CASTLE".

My understanding is that in September, each of the six winners will host an event organised by the Dig It! co-ordinaters, the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland and Archaeology Scotland.
