Fair Monday

South Beach today, "Fair Monday". Changed days - and it was a beautiful day.

Remember when you could hardly walk along this beach it was that full mind you that was a long long time ago,sad as it is such a great spot

What time was this taken??

I was on Salt prom near Oscars at around 1 pm until 2 pm. Busy busy with kids and dogs.

I looked along towards Ardrossan and it was busy.

Our idea of busy must be different.The pic was taken round about 2pm. There were small groups dotted along the prom wall, but I was just trying to contrast the beach now to years gone by.

Today south beach was very busy with hundreds of people in the water. The notice said that the water quality was acceptable. I guess we can thank the stricter pollution laws that being a member of the EEC gave us. Lets hope things aren't allowed to slip.

Changed days I remember swimming around the jobbies in the 70s.
Those wimin were in the nip.

The sewage pipes went out a few times! i remember as a wee yin at Saltcoats pool seeing jobbies floating by and scrambling out the water! No wonder it took me ages to learn to swim! :lol:
