Hello Tom

Is the photo at the bottom of your post the Caley Station with St John's church and Montgomerie Street in the background? I couldn't read the text at the bottom of the photo. I think the lions from this station ended up in the farm building opposite the Tarbet Hotel in Seamill - they were painted yellow the last time I saw them:-)

My apologies for omitting the caption. It is the Caledonian Station and St John's Church. I remember a lion outside the station in the 50/60s which I believe came from the Burgh Chambers in Montgomerie Street. This lion is now on the Castle Hill beside MacFadzeans Monument. I have no knowledge of the second lion. The lion at Chapelton Farm is much smaller.
Perhaps someone can help here.
