There should be a bereavement team ,ask for the details. Also if the account is under £5000 you should not need a Probate for them. You are also entitled to lift money from their account to pay for Funeral expenses, although you may be too late for that now.

Thanx. I paid the funeral from insurance policies.

I managed to get hold of Barclays HQ London. I suggested to them the branch is needing investigated and the info is being passed on.
Threatened them with a legal action and the press. Amazing how effective this can be.

I will ring the bereavement team today.

You could write to them asking for an explanation why the certificates have gone astray but I guess you will have to wait for a reply. You could get other copies and submit these and ask for a receipt and hopefully things would get moving.
They think the certificates are in a safe but the gal who has the keys has never come back (!!)

Nobody else has keys, either in Ayr or Glasgow branch.

Came home from my walk on Tuesday hobbling and I just thought it was my bunion. However to-day it was very inflamed and painful so i began to think gout so i took myself off to the doctor to-day and this was confirmed. One of my favourite films and books is Captain Blood. The governor suffers from gout and Blood being a doctor is able to treat him which impacts on his life as a convict. Thinking that some folk laugh at very painful ailments like gout ( because they think it is caused through over indulgence) and piles (because the anal region is affected) and yet the affected person may not find it funny.

Strange that I went into a pub because I don't frequent these places and then I met a chap I havn't seen for 10 years. He is doing ok and had been over to the old country and we both felt a wonderful friendship because of our ancestry.

I have no problem to reply to a poster without using the quote when it's credible. However as i suspect some members are moderated. It just so happens to cause confusion. Are these guys on a life-sentence

I am starting to find it a bit annoying as well, because you suddenly find posts two and three places backwards. I often almost miss them.
