I'm thinking that the price of whisky varies so much. In Asdas its £11 for a 70cl bottle of the low flyer yet in a Saltcoats supermarket its £17. I spoke about this to the guy who stocks the shelves who had a thick Irish accent. We had a Benny Hill moment when I thought he said the leader is £16 and I said leader I don't know that one. He looked at me and laughed and said litre.

Mince pies, mince pies where are you? The answer is everywhere and I've been stuffing myself with them for the last month. Not the buttery ones beloved of Viv for they are too rich for my taste. As most of us know the original mince pies were meat based with pepper and banned by the miserable Puritans. Gosh to-day they are so wizard. Not too much sugar and loads of exotic fruits with brandy. I think catering to to-days tastes

ASDA has brandy pouring cream to go over the pies Bill. May get myself some soon(!!)

More pies in the shops Bonzo now. Sainsbury has a grand selection in Saltcoats.

You know they say that variety is the spice of life so I bought some different mince pies that are made by a well known biscuit company and they are terrible. Too much sugar on top, in fact the pastry is over whelming the mincemeat. A real disappointment but you know maybe they have given me a scunner and that might be mince pies finished for another year.

Sainsbury has the best looking Xmas cake: slim, filled with fruit pieces and covered in white icing.

The icing on top looks to die for. 2 pounds fifty it costs. Need to get this for Xmas.

I cannot believe it I have the cold. Its been years since and its horrible I was out clearing leaves and came in a mass of sweat. Maybe should just have stayed in the house. Hope it clears up soon. Not nice.

You know I wouldn't eat the icing but cut it off and dump it. Its so bad for you. I remember years ago in Las Vegas going into a shop that sold doughnuts and the amount of icing sugar on them was terrible. I said to the shop assistant who eats that stuff? and she looked at me as if I was from another planet.
