The most apt thing I've heard or read right at this moment in history.

Very good. But what are you going to do?? Get on a plane and head round to the Whitehoose??

Trump will put his own stamp on history, no matter whether you like it or not.

Fair point; me and my big mouth. :)
But at the same time, protest marches and any opposition possible is a huge part of the democratic process and should be used to the n'th degree.
I'm afraid all I can do is shoot my big mouth off from a great distance to all that will listen and in that way, keep the pot boiling.

Two Quotes from Ivor Cutler

There's nothing quite like a Scotch education. One is left with an irreparable debt. My head is full of irregular verbs still.

I was stuck on the side of a mountain in Scotland. I was looking down on emptiness. I lay on my back and looked around in panic. I prayed to God and relaxed. I realised if I turned carefully on my front I could see bits of grass to hold on to.

a Long quote from Jack Elliots blog

The Black Death

During the French wars a terrible disease came from the east called the black death in 1348
Thousands of people died and some villages and manors had hardly anyone left alive
There were not enough men to plough the land and sow the corn, so the Lords of the Manors let grass grow instead.
They kept many sheep on it because their wool was valuable

Now that's very interesting and important. How one event unexpectedly had a huge changing effect on the course of history in a completely different area.
Hadn't realised that before.
