Rumor has it
Heard a rumor yesterday that Ardrossan Harbour will be closing for repairs and the Arran Ferry will then dock at Troon Harbour. Any truth in this?.

Yes, that’s right. They need to carry out some structural changes to Troon Harbour before they can move the service - think it’ll be ready for the autumn.
Re: Rumor has it
If the move "temporally" Will they move back?
Troon will have to pay for their structural problems, themselves, there lies a problem They own the site, and are a well healed Company
Are ABP just going to hand the service back to Peel Ports?
Peel are selling contaminated land to NAC, For a lot of money, and a later bill from a clearance firm
It's known in Business as a "wee sweetener",Drink all round chaps and chapess!!!
ONLY Ronnie McNicoll against it........???
The value seems seriously high, and creates even bigger problems further down the road, mainly NAC are only going to move the contamination, whether to an existing landfill or NAC buy more land, and have to pay again to get rid of that.
Consider this NAC would rather have Troon as a port,After all the the more genteel of the Shire reside in Troon, not the riff raff of Ardrossan
I have said Ayrshire on purpose, and NOT Troon as South Ayrshire.
Fees going to ABP will come from NAC in the short term,BUT after it's established SAC will invest in Troon
Why ?...If you look at it from an Irvine point to view, Irvine gets a port
Auchengate is NAC but the road on the right after passing Auchengate and roundabout on the old road is South( I think, I'm not looking up a map)
Why should I bother, with a bunch of council fools
Think I go and listen to "Rage Against the Machine" quite appropriate!!!

Re: Rumor has it
A&S Herald has an update on this a week ago.
Apparently while the Arran berth at Ardrossan is being upgraded, the arran ferry will dock at the "Irish berth" in Ardrossan. The Troon berth is being upgraded for times when both the Arran and Irish berths are unavailable during the 2 year period.

Re: Rumor has it
I think I heard that from next year TV licences will no longer be free for the elderly over 75's. Can anyone confirm this?
Re: Rumor has it
Free licenses for over 75s have been scrapped as of August this year.,
