Back on the wireless again...
As I've mentioned in another topic, I've been doing a wee bit of broadcasting on Celtic Music Radio, a community radio station based in Glasgow, which promotes traditional and contemporary Scottish/Celtic/Folk/Irish/Americana genres of music. I've been involved for years on the engineering side, but don't often get behind the microphone.
Our FM and DAB signals cover most of Glasgow, and you can also get us online via http://www.celticmusicradio.net, or via Tunein, Radioplayer etc.
However, with the current COVID19 crisis, the studios are in lockdown and we've been doing what we can to enable the regular team to broadcast from home. Some have the facilities to do this, others don't, so I've been doing occasional afternoon shows to fill some gaps, broadcasting live from my spare bedroom in sunny Saltcoats.
Next show is 3pm this coming Friday (24th) - happy to take any requests!

Let me guess - you're using Chrome? The security setting in the latest Chrome browser are blocking us - and if we fix that, we break things for lots of other listeners.
There's a workaround here: https://celticmusicradio.net/streaming-help-chrome/ - or use a different web browser

Wild Mountain Thyme
One day I’ll tell a wee story of this lovely song .... might be a good idea Bruce to ask people their back stories to their favourites in your playlist. Milda just felt Caledonia was her salve to constant homesickness.
Re: Back on the wireless again...
I had about a dozen versions of “Wild Mountain Thyme” - chose the one by James Taylor just for a change.
Other ones we have are by The Corries, Nick, Christine Sparks, Sons of Malarkey, Norris McGregor, Buddy Macdonald, The McCalmans, Ewen Sutherland, Eilidh Grant, Andy Chung, Sgoil Chiuil na Gaidhealtachd, Ewen Maclennan, The Flailing Shilaleighs Band, and Dick Gaughan/Emmylou Harris.
I’ve managed to grab a copy of the entire audio library from the studio!
Popular song!

Re: Back on the wireless again...
But not The Silencers Bruce? In my eyes the best version.
Those wimin were in the nip.
Re: Back on the wireless again...
Yeah - how did I miss that off the list!
It was originally the one I chose - but then i realised it was about 8 minutes long!
Now, if I’d been needing a cup of tea, and a visit to the bathroom, it’d have been ideal....
