I’m involved with Community Radio in Glasgow - for years I’ve done a lot of the engineering work for Celtic Music Radio, which plays trad and contemporary scottish/irish/celtic/americana/folk/roots/etc. We broadcast on FM and DAB in Glasgow, as well as streaming on t’internet.

I don’t normally go “on-air” - I leave it to others to present the programmes.

However, desperate times call for desperate measures. Some of our presenter team are self-isolating. Nobody can travel to the studios (in Kinning Park). Some presenters have enough kit to record a show from home and send it in, but many don’t. So there are some gaps in the schedule, and at present we’re just playing out music on those slots.

I’m putting together a way that presenters can broadcast live from home, with minimal equipment. I’m going to try it out for real tomorrow.... Not sure what time yet - prob late afternoon.

Playlist not finalised yet. It’ll definitely have accordions :-)
So far it also includes Colin Hay, King of Birds, Jill Jackson, Elephant Sessions. And maybe some moothie music for Hughie!

Good luck Bruce - If you haven't done so already, have a listen to John Prine!

We play John Prine regularly. Apparently he’s critically ill at the moment with covid19
