Re: Coronavirus pandemic
Lockdown in all its various stages, has become the “norm” for most of us now and I was wondering what you miss from your pre-COVID lives. What I miss is going supermarket shopping, popping in for a coffee on the way home, then putting the groceries away WITHOUT WIPING EVERY ITEM DOWN WITH ANTI BAC WIPES
Re: Coronavirus pandemic
What I miss is just the freedom to be able to go to places, see people, do things without having to think, and be concerned about any possible consequences that being infected with the virus may cause to my family and myself.
Missing the reassurance and safety net that doctors surgeries and hospitals once provided If we do get ill, they have become rightly or wrongly, because of the virus, places to be avoided.

Re: Coronavirus pandemic
British debt during the pandemic has risen to 2 trillion pounds, that's 12 zeros. To put it into perspective if you had that amount of money and spent 1 million pounds per day it would take you over 5,500 years to spend it.

Re: Coronavirus pandemic
Yes, sad to read that bonzo. It will be the younger Crew who will pick up the tab for that. But never mind- George Osborne is History.
Re: Coronavirus pandemic
Yes but my reasoning is that money is just paper being printed every day. They can make as much as they want any time so shouldn't be too big a problem in the long run.
Re: Coronavirus pandemic
Yes I think we need to ask Gordon Brown for our gold back.
Re: Coronavirus pandemic
Ok, some folks made a bad judgement to go on a holiday abroad. But for these airlines to charge the Earth for them to get home at such short notice is a disgrace.
Re: Coronavirus pandemic
Not only the airlines. A young Swiss couple were on holiday in Puglia, the 'heel' of Italy, when they were dscovered positive though asimtomatic to Covid.
Their parents organised a local ambulance to bring them home, but the Puglian authorities objected and organised an Italian ambulance with a police escort to bring them back to Switzerland. Cost - 8,000 euro. 3 for the ambulance and 5 for the police escort!

Re: Coronavirus pandemic
Our state has fared badly during this pandemic. The daily infections here in Victoria have gone from over 700 infections a day to 44 yesterday, so we now appear to be on the right track.
This as of yesterday for the whole of Australia.

Re: Coronavirus pandemic
The BBC has decided to stop Scotland’s first minister’s daily briefings on the Pandemic to “bring us into line with the rest of the UK”. Nicola Sturgeon has stood at the podium every weekday (and sometimes at weekends) telling us how things are going, answering the same questions from the biased press and being honest about how the Scottish government is handling this horrendous situation. I think I’m about to save my licence fee.
