Returning home on our road trip we came through the town of Portland in Victoria, where many years ago I'd spent four or five days at a time on the waterfront. Always returned home with a crayfish or two and some lovely tatties - the Irish settlers there knew the secret of the seaweed when it comes to growing tatties.
In the modern age this part of our state has masses of pine forests. The photo above shows the stock piling of woodchips and the unique way they have of unloading them. No, the driver doesn't stay in the truck. No doubt these woodchips will be distributed all around the world, many as Ikea flat packs.
Pee Ess... Looks like I got that wrong. I assumed they were pine chips as there are masses of pine forests. Turns out they are Blue Gum hardwood chips. See here
