I assume because of climate change some birds are changing their normal behaviour. Yesterday I was astonished to see 15 grey geese flying over the Lauriston in Ardrossan. It was very windy and they appeared not really able to decide where they were heading.

I could talk about birds all day!, love my birds I have a long list of birds at my feeder. I have to take my feeder in at night because of raccoons and squirrels. Its a ritual every morning, I kid you not, they are waiting for me to bring out the feeder. My favorites are the bright red Cardinals, the male comes first then the female comes and she just waits for the male to put the seeds in her beak and he feeds her, it is such a sight to see!. we have such an array of other birds, Downy Woodpeckers, Blue Jays, Mourning Doves, Gold Finches, Black Birds, Chickadees, lots of those wee brown ones. I have a Humming Bird feeder too but they are not so plentiful, but beautiful. I can sit at my puter have my morning coffee and watch them till my hearts content. Birds and flowers are my thing!, I spend a lot of time with both. //heart

Always found Grey Heron's fascinating.

Took this pic from the walkway/cycle path, next to the river near Kilwinning.

And this one from the wee bridge over the Cloy Burn that's close to the Fisherman's walk in
Brodick, Isle of Arran.

Got my birds on rice crispies this morning. Ran out of bread (again). Seem to be going down a storm.

Be careful Jo, that's how I shattered my ankle, tripped over a rope to help hold up a young tree, didn't want to spill the bird seed, so went down funny, E.R. these things always seem to happen on a weekend with me, lol! Now I have a plate and a pin and the bliddy thing acts up all the time. He said if I'd gone for a cast I'd probably need to wear it over a year...noo I'm starting to think I'm allergic to the plate and pin, canny win for losin'

They should be OK with the crispies. I have given them these before (!!)

Got a new bird now - Blackie. Looks like a torn out fire place. An older bird, with orange eyes. Came right up for food yesterday, after initially being very scared on Monday.

I only use bird seed, of different types, and hummingbird nectar. Cockatiel mix for my house pet. My vet is a bird specialist and he'd probably have me arrested if he found out I was feeding them anything else! I don't drive so either my kids pick some up or I get it online. My son was helping in the yard recently and cleaning debris out the pool, apparently all kinds of beasties in there, he said the pheobe birds couldn't wait to get at them! (his big bro drained the pool to clean it and never finished...old story, he means well just doesn't see things through  )

I saw a useful wee tip on TV. If you coat nuts and alike in chilli the birds will still eat them as they have no sense of taste but the squirrels will not go near them.
