Threetowners cycling thread
Re: Threetowners cycling thread
Hey Bonzo when you cycle through Fullerton wood in the summer do you ever come across adders on the path? Great blackberries in that area too lovely and sweet and full of flavour when in season.
Re: Threetowners cycling thread
Can't say that I have only ever seen one adder and that was about 40 years ago down by butlins in Ayr.

Re: Threetowners cycling thread
About five years ago there it was on the path and it was looking at me and I felt vulnerable . I quickly cycled past and being curious I asked a nature guy and he said the area that was used as a dump has an adder population.

Irvine to Ardrossan this morning went to the end of North crescent road and turned back. Dropped into my faithers on the way home. Wet and windy that right stingy rain but hey Ho you can't get any wetter than wet. 20 miles.

Now there's a thought:
Re: Threetowners cycling thread
A wee blast along to Troon this afternoon Cycle path all the way. Stopped at the first tee at royal Troon and back the same way. Lovely afternoon what a difference from Saturday.
A few bits of military hardware flying around Prestwick a typhoon and 3 what I presume were hawk trainners very fast very noisey. 25 miles covered today.

Bonzo have you ever killed an animal when your on your cycle? I once killed a rabbit near Troon and it wasn't deliberate the poor thing had myxie and it panicked and dashed out in front of me allowing me no way of missing it.

Maybe the odd slug or snail but I try my best to avoid them.

I thought I'd seen everything here in NL. They do everything on their bikes.
I've seen them walking the dog; - very common; with an umbrella up against the rain; with 3 weans on seats - handlebars, cross-bar and on the back; a weeks shopping or a couple of crates of Heineken held on with one hand at the back - students of course; a long plank under the arm. You wouldn't believe some of their antics.
They joke about themselves that they flit on the bike. I've often seen furniture being moved on a bike, though I will concede that they were walking beside it.
But this takes the cake.
JD.

Cheers Brian, the consultant told me it's ok to cycle so I'm going to and from work. I'm taking a couple of pills to keep me in check and just waiting to go for the electric shock to put the heart beat back to normal.
