Lots of positives.
Pool strength in depth, and nobody pressed Ireland and France harder than Scotland did.
Ten years ago we would have been resigned to a slow bicycle race with Italy - and thank God they've improved out of all recognition - for the spurtle of oak.

I must have watched van der Merwe's try a dozen times - that instantaneous acceleration from a standing start for such a big guy was just so unexpectedly phenomenal. Judging by the floundering of the first three England players he went past, it was a total surprise for them too.
