Re: manchester arena terror attack

Fantastic to see the people of Manchester coming out tonight for the tribute concert and to send out the message these barbarians that our great country will never be beaten. Like him or loathe him, Robbie Williams was brilliant there, hairs on the back of the neck standing on end.

Scottish Junior Cup Final

Well done to Stevenston lad Alan Cairns. Scored the winner today in the Scottish Junior Cup Final. I actually had a discussion on Facebook earlier about players from the 3 towns that have won the Scottish Junior Cup. James Latta with Auchinleck, Greig Henry again with Auchinleck, James Murray with L...

Re: manchester arena terror attack

If you put troops on the street, you are nudging martial law, which Churchill did, May is using this as propaganda, a guy alone out to create havoc is one thing,BUT May as former Home Secretary has the Intelligence forces behind her, this did not surface unexpectedly. Cobra has tactical command,BUT...

Re: manchester arena terror attack

Goodness me, putting extra police and troops on the streets is imperialism? If that's what it takes to stop an attack or save just one life I'm happy with that. Now's not the time for petty political point scoring, our country's children are being slaughtered for doing nothing more than enjoying a n...

Re: The Magnum!!

I read that the UK government has decided not to fund the Ayrshire Growth Deal - i.e. they’re not going to give the hundreds of millions of pounds necessary for the suite of developments that includes the Irvine Harbourside / Ardeer Peninsula projects. The proposals seem to be dead in the water. I ...

Re: Local Elections - An Opportunity to Stuff May

The debate has moved away from what I had originally hoped for when I started this topic. It is focussing more on whether or not Scotland could or should be independent and I would have thought that would be more relevant when a referendum is actually triggered. My original concern was the dismissi...

Re: Local Elections - An Opportunity to Stuff May

Calling somebody a basket case comes across as snide to me. Now now, to be fair wasn't it you yourself who first used the term 'Basket Case' in relation to how you would view an Independent Scotland ? As for what I said...what part is opinion? We have the highest public spending deficit in Europe i...

Re: Local Elections - An Opportunity to Stuff May

A great point well made. You seem to make a habit out of having snide digs at people on here. There really is no need. Btw, please tell me what is incorrect about what I have said. It wasn't meant as a snide dig Geo, the intention was a wee bit of humour. Lighten up a bit. :) I think what yo...

Re: Glasgow Central Station

I've also heard the tour is well worth doing. I'm sure I read somewhere that they take you up onto a section of the roof as well where they access it to do maintenance work.

Re: Local Elections - An Opportunity to Stuff May

Vivian no right thinking person vandalises anything. When we get our independence we will have a nuclear free country, no Trident or nuclear power stations. A country that will be a shining example to the world. Yes, and we will also be out of the EU and a financial basket case of a country. Some p...
