Hi Joan, I remember the lamplighter,I looked down to see him moving
along Dockhead St where we lived, I think they were called
(Leery Lamplighters, If I have the spelling right) Ellen. :oops:

Hi All, I can't speak for all prefabs only the ones in Saltcoats,
ours had electric cooker and fridge, also an electric water heater.

Hi, I remember the gas mantles and how easy they were to break,
do any of you remember the gas works, at the corner of
Springvale St, and the bridge over the railway off Manse St.
I remember after the war, dad took me with him to get coke
