Celtic 1967

Quite by chance last night saw on BBC Scotland the hour long programme of Celtic winning the European Cup in 1967. The life stories of all the team mates. Stevie Chalmers in hospital with TB/Meningities never expected to recover, but going on to score the winning goal in the final. And Bobby Lennox,...

Re: Things to do when stuck at home during this virus problem

Today I made my third attempt at baking scones. My best result so far. Thanks to hahaya. The grandchildren enjoyed them so I'll be making them again as my SIL arrived too late and they were all gone. Anything to pass the time.

Re: Things to do when stuck at home during this virus problem

Thats a lovely Arran pattern Meg. My mum did so many Arran pullovers for us all. I would love to knit, I brought back all my knitting pins when I was in Saltcoats, but I can't get out to buy the wool!

Re: Mac's Bar - Our Virtual Cafe

Apart from Wine or beer with my food, my alcohol intake has been scarse for the last decade but for the first time in over 10 years last night I attacked a bottle of Drambuie. Oh it did go down well. A wee bit of Scottish Pleasure to brighten up these dark days.

Re: Coronavirus pandemic

Hi Meg. We are all fine. Just running out of ideas for keeping the children occupied. No-one is allowed out on the streets, or you get a 3000 euro fine right away and if by car, your car is sequestered. So nobody goes out. We now have the army controlling our towns. Begining to run out of supplies, ...

Re: Coronavirus pandemic

I don't understand when people are diagnosed as being positive to the virus, but they have no symptoms. How can you be positive and have no symptoms. Don't understand this.

Re: Coronavirus pandemic

Not looking good I'm afraid Meg, in fact worse. After 15 days of staying indoors, we are all rather nervous and fed up. No sign of school restarting, and the children are really bored, even though lessons are arriving via internet. Parents are really stressed. Now they are talking about 15 April, bu...

Re: Scones

Thanks Hahaya.. I'll give it a try. Yes we don't have self raising flower, and neither baking soda. I've tried two recipes but no luck so far.
