Re: ANZAC's - And The Band Played Waltzing Matilda
What else can you say about this song? "They gave me a tin hat and they gave me a gun." Tin hats were not issued until 1916.

Re: ANZAC's - And The Band Played Waltzing Matilda
A few years ago I was talking to a couple of Aussie soldiers at the Canberra museum and they had feathers in their hats so I guess they were from the Light Horse made famous in the film Gallipoli . I said that we don't want anymore wars and they disagreed stating that there were too many people in t...

Re: Wildlife in Stevenston
To-day a collard dove was sitting on my neighbour's trellis with impunity because big Jake was taking his turn on the nest and I guess this guy or gal knew this.

Re: Wildlife in Stevenston
About a dozen starlings are pitching up each day to feast on a coconut shell that my neighbour puts out. I wonder what would happen if he put out a bounty bar? I guess I would jump the wall and eat it. The almond tree has died I guess just old. Anyway I will miss the blossom and the bullfinches that...

Re: What's the latest movie you've seen?
The Homesman, what a strange film. It amazes me that very attractive women are chosen to play plain Jaynes. A drunken no good turns down the chance of a lifetime basically he's a crook and a bum and doesn't want to change. One laugh (not that there was much to laugh at in this film) was the money sh...

Re: Wildlife in Stevenston
As I knew he would big Jake helped himself to the woodpigeon's eggs in the bottom fir this morning. I don't know if they will give up or try to repeat. I hope they stick around as I love to hear their soft coo on an early summer's morning.

Re: Alright i will break the ice-Commonwealth games
The English women's net ball team have rightly been praised for their great triumph against the Australian World champions. It was very exciting to watch .It is not included in the Olympics and I hope this changes because it is very entertaining.

Re: the Rabbie Burns pub
Michael the doors were wide open and men were hosing out the place on Thursday in broad daylight hard to believe they were scoofers. Maybe they shut the place up and forgot to turn off the water. Really its in such a state that it will cost more than its worth to fix. I bet it gets flattened. I'll t...

The one I went to was a sadist. No anaesthetic and old slow drills and then to be told your nothing but a cry baby.
