Re: Coronavirus pandemic

We have now reached a total of 100 doctors and 26 nurses who have died with coronovirus. However the general picture is of a steady decrease in positive cases, perhaps also due to more testing, and less victims. Phase 2 should have some small businesses open after 13 April, one county at a time, and...

Notting Hill

Watched a handsome Hugh Grant and a young Julia Roberts last night. Is there any truth in the rumor that Hugh Grant was at a restaurant in Fairlie a few years ago? My grandaughter was there three weeks ago and said it isn't even licenced, you have to go into their shop and buy your wine apart from y...

Re: Coronavirus pandemic

It's the same here, but the fines start from 400 euro. I think the German police learned from Italy, although Germany were more efficient with early testing. Police have been controlling our streets for the last three weeks, asking to see the previously filled in permission certificates stating wher...

Re: Coronavirus pandemic

Frankly I don't understand why British politicians bother to go on the tele every evening repeating over and over again not to go out, stay in, and have no contacts. I think it is clear to everyone by now that this is the only way the virus will stop spreading. The effects will not be immediate, it ...

Re: Coronavirus pandemic

Well Meg, we just got word from the Government that the lock down will continue until April 15 making a total of 5 weeks that we shall be closed in our homes. No Easter celebrations this year. After 15 April depending on how things are, there will be another anouncement. There is great concern for t...

Re: Coronavirus pandemic

I must say It sounded suspicious when you were woken at 05.00 am to be told that you would be turning back. Now there are cruise ships all over the world that are blocked by this virus and passengers not allowed to get off. You were lucky you got back in time Hughie. Keep safe and keep indoors.

Celtic 1967

Quite by chance last night saw on BBC Scotland the hour long programme of Celtic winning the European Cup in 1967. The life stories of all the team mates. Stevie Chalmers in hospital with TB/Meningities never expected to recover, but going on to score the winning goal in the final. And Bobby Lennox,...

Today I made my third attempt at baking scones. My best result so far. Thanks to hahaya. The grandchildren enjoyed them so I'll be making them again as my SIL arrived too late and they were all gone. Anything to pass the time.

Thats a lovely Arran pattern Meg. My mum did so many Arran pullovers for us all. I would love to knit, I brought back all my knitting pins when I was in Saltcoats, but I can't get out to buy the wool!
