Re: Coronavirus pandemic

That is such great news Hughie - it’s amazing what a competent government can do. Do you know which vaccine the Australian government is going with? Here in south Ayrshire, we are again under strict lock down - this image is from a daily app I complete with details of how we are feeling/if we’ve had...

Re: Sundays ‘back in the day’

I split this from the pictures topic, as I thought it would be interesting to read what your Sunday was like back in the day.

Sundays ‘back in the day’

Angus - me too. Sundays were a year long when we were young - and the TV was rubbish. My dad always listened to Sing Something Simple which was on at 7.30 on the radio, that was the signal for me to go out - heard the theme tune a year or so back and it catapulted me back 50 years.

So what you're really saying Meg is the pubs are shut
... and the toilets, and the weans’ swings, and shops, and cafes and, well I thought Lewis was a miserable place. South Uist and Barra are catholic, so the world comes to life when the chapel comes out😉

Re: Your pictures of Scotland 14-21 August 2020

Meg I would like to visit North Uist and Lochmaddy in particular. My father’s relatives come from there, I was there, I’m told, when I was three years old, but had to come home because I developed whopping cough. I sometimes think I can remember some things about the small holding cottage, but noth...

Re: Your pictures of Scotland 14-21 August 2020

I feel the same about SC - Baroness in waiting - but we’ve already decided to stay at home next summer - even if the “world beating, 70% effective, wonderful success” vaccine allows overseas travel. I want to visit the Inner Hebrides and Fair Isle, and revisit Barra and South Uist. Probably cost as ...

Re: Your Favourite Scottish music on Youtube

Heard this on Radio 2 today - cant believe how long ago it was - love Maggie Bell and have seen her performing live in the Apollo, Barrowlands, and believe it or not in the Castle Craigs.
